● Windshield: Non-reflective tint is permitted above the top 4 inches or AS-1 line of the windshield. The windshield must allow more than 70% of light to pass through below the AS-1 line.
● Front side windows: The driver and front passenger side windows must allow at least 35% of light to pass through. The tint cannot have a metallic or mirrored appearance.
● Back side and rear windows: There are no minimum light transmittance requirements for these windows. However, if the windows behind the driver are tinted, the vehicle must have both outside rear-view mirrors.
Window tint percentages, also known as Visible Light Transmission (VLT) percentages, indicate how much light can pass through a tinted window. A higher percentage means more light passes through, while a lower percentage means less light and a darker tint
